Adding cells with formulas calculating the value

I have a row of numbers in sheet 1. in sheet 2 i write a
formula to extract information from sheet ! (which
calculates into a number.

I am trying to add the values in sheet 2 and it won't let
me because it thinks treats the values in sheet 2 as text
and not a number.

I have tried formatting the cells in sheet 2 to represent
a number cell and it makes no difference (keeps coming
back with a value of 0)

When I use the wizard to insert the function "sum" and
try to add the range of cells it has the number values in
sheet 2 in quotation marks representing that the cells
are text.

Please Help!!!!!!!

After formatting text as numbers, select a single column and use menu
Data/Text to columns/Finish
