adding color field

I have 3 different fields, color 1, color 2 and color 3 to my database. each
color signifies the status of the project. Red, yellow, blue, etc. I would
like to add the color green to the color fields but it wont let me. When im
in datasheet view, i can see the actual colors red, blue and yellow. but not
green. i type it in and press enter and nothiing happens.
Is there a way to get around this? Is green not an option?

Conditional formating is the only way to have colors in datasheet
view.

There are only three choices available and the default is typically
black on white default for data items.
