Adding Commands to the Quick Launch Bar

Hello! I have a new laptop with Windows Vista Business on it and MS Office
2007. I don't think the Office Shortcut Bar is available in 2007? If it is
available, please tell me how to find it. If it's not available, please tell
me how to add "Open Office Document" and "New Office Document" commands to
the Windows Quick Launch bar. Thank you!

Find the command on the ribbon right click select add to
quick access. Another option would be to click on the Office
button and then at the bottom select options then
select customize.

These shortcuts are not added in the default installation. In your Control
Panel, in Add Remove Programs, change your Office installation and under
Office Shared features, set New and Open Microsoft Office Document Shortcuts
to Run From My Computer.

Now if they are already installed and in your Start menu, just right-drag
them from your Start menu onto your Quick Launch Toolbar and when prompted
click Copy Here.

Thank you. However, I don't think I made myself clear. I have been successful
in adding these commands to the MS Office Quick Access Toolbar that appears
when you have Word, Excel, etc. open.

What I am trying to do is add these commands to the Windows Quick Launch
Toolbar that appears at the bottom of my screen, appearing at all times. It's
the toolbar area just to the right of the Windoews START button at the bottom
of my screen.

Thank you, Beth! That is exactly what I needed! (I will never understand why
Microsoft has to hide some of their most used commands.)

Geez, Beth, I didn't know that! I've missed these ever since Office 97
and they were there all the time? I feel pretty silly but thanks
anyway! ;-)

You're welcome. I usually use the default install initially and then take a
look at what wasn't installed by the standard installation (mainly to
determine what isn't installed by default - yeah, I know I'm a geek <girn>)
and then install everything.
