Adding custom accents

I want to add an arrow above a word without creating a new line. Kind of like an accent. How do I do this and how can I create my own custom accents to go above a word??

Hi James:

If you can't achieve what you need using a border, then you need a Font
Editor :)

Sorry, but there are some limits to what Word will do, and editing
characters is one of them.

Before I can tell you more, I need to know what version of Word you are
using.

Cheers

For single letters you can try using Unicode 20D6 and 20D7. a⃖ b⃗
I don't think making your own font will produce custom accents for
words, only individual letters.

Probably: Look up " Unicode Alan wood" in Google and see what he recommends
:)

For a on-off, you could put the symbol you want (an arrow) in a text
box with no background or border colour, and overlay that where you
want it.
