Adding Custom FOrm to Existing COntact File

I have an existing Contacts folder with about 2,500
contacts. It was created using the standard Contact
Form. I now want to add several additional custom fields
to the database and have created a new version of the
form with the new fields included. I have published the
new form to the contact folder and set it as the default
form for new contacts. This seems to be working. BUT,
how do I now translate the existing contacts so that when
I open one of them it opens with the new form so I can
enter the data for the new fields???
