Adding Custom task field for totaling hours in the EPM timesheet

Help!

My goal is to generate a report using timesheet data that summarizes totals
by a custom task field.

I had created a custom enterprise field at the task level that contains a
text code. These codes are used throughout various projects.

I know that there is no out of the box solution and that this data is not in
the EPM Timesheet cube.

Is there anyone out there with the knowledge of how to set up the MDX
expressions or something on the backend so I can get this report?

Last time I did this, I created a View in the Reporting database: didn't
take too long at all (I don't have a copy I'm afraid). The timesheet data is
there and timesheet tasks should provide the original Task GUID so you can
link to the View MSP_EpmTask_UserView which will also have your custom
field appended to its end.

Thanks for replying.

We were able to generate an excel spreadsheet using SQL. Is there a way to
have it appear in the PWA data analysis interface using the EPM timesheet
cube so the report is available to the end-user?
