Adding Fields in Project Information Menu

Ryan

Hi there, in MS Project, in the "Project" menu there is a tab "Project
Information". I would like to ask how to add fields there to let the users
enter the information and publish to the PWA. Is it related to "Project
Workspace Template"? I am new to Project Server. Thanks!

Hi Ryan,

Those are Enterprise Outline Codes & Custom Fields of Project entity
type. If you create them in Enterprise Global, you would get them
added to Project Information tab.
Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Ravi.

Thanks for your quick reply. Just a follow up question. I would like to ask
how can I change the order of the fields in the "Project Information" tab?
Thanks.

Ryan,

PS 2003 - These fields are in alphabetical order
PS 2007 Pre-SP1 - These fields are in the order they were created
PS 2007 Post-SP1 - These fields are in alphabetical order

There is no way to change this. A workaround is to pre-pend the project
custom field name with a number to force your own ordering but this name
with the number will show up in all locations that the field is used which
can be a bit funky.

Be careful not to use special characters such as !@#$%^&*()+- etc in custom
field names or values if you want to be sure that your OLAP/Data Analysis
cubes will continue to run correctly.
