Adding Language packs to a silent 2007 Enterprise setup

Ronnie Pedersen

Hello,

I would like to install a EN-US 2007 Enterprise version, with EN-US as the
UI language, along with a second one (Danish) from a Language Pack. I don't
need a second UI langauge, only the proofing tools.

If I copy the files from the SLP to my Office install folder, without
overwriting anything, then no matter what modifications I do with the
\enterprise.ww\config.xml file, the UI langauge is taken from the system
locale of the test pc (Danish), and I cannot make setup use EN-US as default.

I use the following elements in config.xml

<AddLanguage Id="en-us" ShellTransform="yes"/>
<AddLanguage Id="da-dk " />

I've tried other combinations, and also tried using the /admin tool instead,
but nothing seems to do the trick.

Has anyone got this working, ie had full control over the installed UI
language, AND added another language via a SLP or MLP, to be used as
proofing?

Thanks in advance.

It looks like you are talking about the UI in the applications not in the
Setup UI. ShellTransform does not control the UI in the installed
applications. The Single Language Pack does not provide the ability to add
proofing tools for that language without the UI. You should be able to do
what you would like when the Office 2007 Proofing Tools Kit is released.
