Adding list to a table

Is there an easy way to cut and paste a list of data to a table in word?
I have a table with 3 columns and I would like to add a list of say 200
words to column 2 with each word in the list occupying one cell. The
list could be from a column in excel or from another document which has
each word(s) on a new line.

if you were to highlight the 200 words and go to Table, Convert, Text to
table, and "separate text" at paragraph .. this would turn your 200
words into a one column table, which you could then paste into your
existing table.
