Adding music to .pps shows the easy way

The problem of adding a music file (.wav) to a slideshow is not all that
easy.
Posts on this appear from time to time.
I had the same problem once, so I set out to solve it once and for all.
Here's how I do it successfully every time...
First I insert all the Slides I want into the show.
Then on the start (first) slide, I click Slideshow then Slide Transition.
I set up the Transitions next, then tick the "On Mouse click"
and the "Automatically after" box, with the required number of seconds.
In the Sound field drop down box, choose "No sound"
then in the upper right click the "Apply to all" box.
Now open the Sound drop down box again,
and scrolling down to the bottom,, select 'Other Sound"
This will open the a window where you can browse for
your .wav file. Note: it must be .wav. to embed same.
At least it must be in my PPT. 97 version.
After you choose your .wav file and click ok you should
hear it playing right away if it's good.
The file name will now appear in the Sound window.
Most important now, is to click the "Apply" button, upper right.
Your all set to go now when you click start Slideshow.
You should save and name it next.
Depending on the length of your .wav file it may or may not finish
with your last slide.
If the music is longer and you wish to hear it all,
you can untick the "Automatically After" box
in the last slide only, by clicking on View on Menu Bar,
then "Slide Sorter".
Right click on the last slide, and choose "Slide Transition" again.
This time untick the "Automatically After" box. Then the Apply button.
Now you can enjoy the music when you get to the last slide,
and when your ready click the mouse to finish.
Of course if you have an Audio Editor you can tailor the file to suit your
Show, or you can increase the Slides time delay to match the Sound file...
Once you get the hang of it, you'll see it's not that difficult after all...
Good luck
