Adding new data after creating subtotals

How can I add new data to a sheet without re-doing subtotals? I have a sheet (Col A is Date field). I have sorted by date and selected subtotals by date. Now I want to add new data (a new weeks worth). The only way I see to do this s by...
Selecting subtotals in data menu and clicking on 'Remove all'
Adding new data
Redo subtotals

Is there an easier way??

Hi Ray -

I don't know how much easier it could be :) When you turn the Subtotals
feature off just add the new records to the bottom of the list, Sort again
based on your break field & make sure your cell selector is in the data
range. When you go back to the Subtotals dialog the same settings will still
be in effect so just click OK.

Bob, Thanks for the reply. In my case it is NOT very easy, as I have 37 columns to select for subtotals. When I click on SUBTOTALS, only one column is selected, even though the current subtotals had 37 selected.
Is there a way to tell it to maintain the current selection?

I'm not clear on the problem then. In order to apply or re-apply the
Subtotals feature it is not necessary to select the range. As long as your
data range is in consecutive columns & rows with captions at the top it's
only necessary that you select *any* one cell in the range.

If I'm missing the point can you clarify the issue more?

Bob,

My problem was having checked 'Replace current subtotals.' I unchecked that and now whenever I go back, all of my column selections are still there. Thanks for your help.
