Adding new Reource in PWA site in Project Server 2007

Hi,
Whenever I add a new resource in PWA site from Resource Center, It
automatically adds the new resource to all the Project workspaces as Readers.

Is this to do something with the settings or this is how the Project Server
works?

I want that whenever a new resource is added, it should not add the resource
to the existing Project Workspaces.

Thanks in Advance

Hi ,

Project Server by default will add everone to the workspace. This is
automoatic sync of permissions and the only way to work around it turning
this sync off and assigning permissions on a per user basis but bearing in
mind that this is a huge administrative overhead

It sounds like a security setting you have for your Team Members group. Can
you verify what security categories are associated to the Team Members group
and what the settings are for each category in the project permission rules
section?

if the workspace permissions checkbox under "Project workspace Provisioning
Settings" is checked, all PS users with the View Project Workspace
permission on a project will be added to the site as Readers. View Project
Workspace is a Category permission, you probably would want to start there.

I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the reply.
One more thing, whenevr I am adding a new resource to PWA, it is adding to
all the existing Workspaces also. So is this related to this setting or I
have to do something else for this.
Please help on this..

Did you get my previous post? Here it is again in case you didn't see it.
