Adding Office To A Backup Computer - Same Owner

J

John

I just added Office to my backup computer using the
original software. I now get a warning on the backup
that I have XX number of times to use until I need to
register it. When I register the backup using the same
Product Key, I assume it will tell me that it is already
registered. My name is the same for the second
installation. Does this mean I will have to purchase an
additional Office and, if so, is there a discounted price
for the second application.

You generally may only install Office on 1 pc per license (with the
exception of some versions which allow a dual install on the primary owner's
laptop). Unfortunately, there's no discount for multiple copies.

Does Office Professional Edition apply to this? I would
like to install Office 2003 on the laptop as well as my
desktop.

Thanks

You'll have to check your license agreement. Most retail copies of 2003
(ie: not sold installed with the computer itself) do permit the primary
owner to have a copy on their personal laptop.
