Adding OneNote 2007 to Office Pro 2007

I've been using Office 2007 for a year or so. I recently had the need to
evaluate OneNote - so decided to download the trial version. It will not
install saying that Office 2007 cannot upgrade from a pre-release version.
This box probably had pre-release on it once - but that was long since
removed and the final version installed a year ago. Clearly the OneNote
install is picking up some remnant of the old install - but where can I look
to get rid of the offending item?

Hi,

Open registry editor and look for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \MICROSOFT \OFICE \OFFICE12 \REGISTRATION
\{XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX}

Click each key under registration and check the programs/suite names, if u
find any trial or beta ,
backup and delete that key, then install new programs.

Thanks for that suggestion - there was a key "TrialType" with value
dword:ffffffff, but its removal makes on difference. There is also a key
"Release_Type" = "1" - is that the correct value? There were name keys for
OneNote - so I have tried removing those as well - but to no avail.

OK.
sorry I dont know the names and its values you have asked.

Expand Registration, click each key under that
and look for "Product name" on right side, its value should "not" contain
trial / beta in it.
It makes no difference if modify name or their values.
you must delete the key under registration.

if this doesn’t work, then Install MSICUU2 and check the list , if you find
any beta programs remove it.
This MSICUU2 is not used to uninstall 07 programs, but in such cases can be
used to remove remnant after uninstalling programs.

Thanks a million!

This did the trick. It found remnants of a beta version of the "save as pdf"
addin - so now I'm back in business!

Thanks

TimY
