Hi Word Gurus
This one has me stumped and I wonder what I'm doing wrong here.
I have Word 2003 SP3 and open up a clean new document.
* I enter some 10 line sof text, and set the first one to be Heading
1.
* I modify Heading 1 style to have the outline numbered style of
1.1.1.
* I make sure there is text directly below the Heading 1. It is
"normal" style
* I put the cursor somewhere in this text
* I click on the "numbering" button in the formatting toolbar
* Rather then getting a "numbered" style list, the text is now
"Heading 1" style
And now, whenever I hit the numbering button in the tool bar, I get
Heading 1 and not numbered lists. This makes lists impossible to
start.
This is the most generic case. I have followed everything in
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html and
still get the same result.
Any help would be appreciated. I am probably doing something very
wrong!
Cheers
John
