adding Powerpoint 2007 to Office 2007 Basic

Hi

Is it possible to add Powerpoint 2007 from a disk to an installation of
Office 2007 Basic (OEM) edition? I have tried uninstalling PP from the
computer and then popping the Powerpoint disk in and installing from that.
However, when I open up Powerpoint it continues to say it is a trial version!
Any way round this?

Okay, help me understand what versions you have installed and which CDs
you're talking about.

Office Basic, as you know, comes installed with your computer and doesn't
include PowerPoint. Office Basic usually comes with a trial of Office Pro
installed also, and that does include PowerPoint. So that's maybe where the
trial version thing is coming from.

What PPT disk are you using to install?

I don't see where the poster said anything about splitting an Office suite
or using the OEM license on a different computer, JoAnn.

You cannot use an OEM license on a different computer. Nor can you "split"
Office suites between computers.

I would like to ask a similar question:

I alrady own Office 2007 Basic. I would like to add the Powerpoint Module.
Can I pay for an upgrade online just to download Powerpoint 2007?

It sounds like they have Office Basic on one computer but an OEM suite on
another. They want to take PPT from the second and install it on the first.
At least that's how I read it.

This page http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101754511033.aspx says
that any 2007 suite is a qualifying product for the PPT 2007 Upgrade, so you
should be able to purchase an upgrade version and use it to add PowerPoint.
I don't know that you can purchase and download just PowerPoint online,
though, through Microsoft. Everything I see shows entire Office suites. So
you may need to purchase at something like Amazon or Egghead and wait for
CDs -- or see if your favorite bricks and mortar store has it.
