Adding Project Server 2007 to SharePoint 2007

Paul

I curently have SP1 installed for SharePoint 2007. When I install Project
Server 2007 do I need to reapply SP1 to SharePoint before I run the
SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard? The reason I ask
is I have a large server farm and I don't want to waste any downtime if I
don't need to.

I have looked at but I don't see anything that says I don't need to reapply
SP1

Deploy Project Server 2007 to an existing deployment of Office SharePoint
Server 2007:

Deploy Service Pack 1 for Office Project Server 2007:

Hi Paul,

The SP1 install package is the same for MOSS as for ProjectServer. The thing
I would do in your case is to copy the setup for ProjectServer to harddrive
and extract the SP1 files to the \updates folder where you copied the setup
files.
This way, the installer will install projectserver including sp1, so you do
not need to re apply the SP1.
Installing projectserver to existing MOSS installation will cause IIS to be
down for a while (as you need to run sharepoint configuration wizard).

hope this helps

Paul:

If you have a large server farm, I'd strongly advise you to consider both
the licensing impact of adding Projecct Server and the maintenance impacts.
Project Server tends to need more care and feeding than a stable MOSS farm
alone. By adding Project Server to this farm you may be exposing it to a
higher maintenance frequency. So if this is a concern, consider creating a
separate farm using your shared SQL environment.
