Adding Quicktime movies

L

Lana

Hello,

Has anyone figured out how to add a Quicktime movie to FrontPage? I have
tried everything... I don't know what else to do?

Import it into your current open web and then create a link to it, like you would do to another
page.

But, but, but ..

I have tried this and it asks you to download. My movie is not large (time
wise) but it is 6Mb

Is there a way to get the movie to open, or at least to load into the page
with a delay. I often see this - there is a status bar which moves and when
it reaches the end, the file opens.

If you are prompted to download it, then the browser doesn't know what to do with the file format,
in other words, it doesn't know which application to pass it to.

Exactly --- you're linking to a file and when you click a link you download
stuff - that's the nature of the web.

You and your viewers must have Quicktime Player (or full Quicktime editor
(?) product).

By default, and if you have quicktime, clicking the link will open the
player, and it will download & play.

Thanks, Thomas and Andrew.

The situation now is that QuickTime is known to IE. On my disk web, the
movie opens and plays in QuickTime

But on the web, QuickTime opens but that is all. There is no indication that
the file is being downloaded. Perhaps it is and I don't know about it -
there is no dialog, for sure.

This is different from before when I got no QuickTime but a download dialog.
I am wondering are there some caches to clear. I tried deleting cookies and
TIF using Tools | Internet Options but no difference
