adding radio button & protect docs

G

gildan

hi, i wanna put some radio buttons in my docs...

example:
What is your gender?
O Male O Female

I've tried using the Control Toolbox to do so...but once i protect th
document, those radio buttons wouldn't work (Yes, i did click on "Exi
Design Mode"). Worse still, i can't unprotect my document because o
the existence of such radio buttons.

How do i go around this problem or is there other ways to add radi
buttons? Please help, i'm using office xp SP2 :(

thx,
gilda

Hi Gildan,

Why don't you use a dropdown type formfield that contains the choices that
the user has. Or, use checkboxes and implement the procedure given in the
article “Making groups of Check Box Form Fields mutually exclusive (so that
they behave like radio buttons) “ at:

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Hi Gildan,
I've tried using the Control Toolbox to do so...but once i protect the
document, those radio buttons wouldn't work (Yes, i did click on "Exit
Design Mode"). Worse still, i can't unprotect my document because of
the existence of such radio buttons.
1. You have to insert the radio buttons "inline with the text" in order
to have the work correctly in a protected form. No text wrap formatting.
If you need to position them more freely on the page, you can insert
them into a FRAME (from the Forms toolbar).

2. Since radio buttons are ActiveX controls, they include VBA elements.
And these VBA elements trigger the macro protection. From the sound of
it, you've set your macro security settings to "High". In order to use a
form containing ActiveX controls you must either
- sign the form with a digital signature
- set macro security to "medium" or "low"
