Adding Resources to the Enterprise Resource Pool

We are having a new problem adding resources to the
Enterprise Resource Pool. Previously we followed the
instructions to do this without incident but lately
Project enterprise is producing error messages about the
Name or Windows account. After trying several times to
add users to the Enterprise Resouce pool without results
the our Web Access Administrator added the user in the
web piece but we still cannot get the resources in the
client piece. I even applied the resources to a dummy
project to try to import them using the Resource import
wizard but was still unsuccesful. Its as if there is a
break in connecting to the Enterprise Resource Pool.
Please help!

Hi,

I had a similar problem myself. What I found was that the user had
already been set up within Web Access. I know this is slightly
different to what you're saying but if you try this..

Provided the Resource that your having problems with has not been
associated to any tasks on any enterprise projects (if so remove the
association through Project Professional) you could get your Web
Access Administrator to merge the problem User Account with another
User Account. The Administrator must ensure that they are merging the
problem user account into a non problem user account.

The option is within 'Manage Users & Groups' within the Admin section
of Web Access.

This has the effect of totally removing the problem user account from
the server (as opposed to de-activating it). Then try and set up the
user account again in Enterprise Resources through Project
Professional.

One caveat is that using merging is to be done very selectively as it
could cause problems if you're trying to merge two Enterprise
Resources both of which being associated to a number of tasks. The end
result would be that your Merged Enterprise resource would then be
associated with all tasks from the two pre-merged accounts.

Hope this helps.
