Adding sequence numbers to paragraphs

Hi,
i have paragraphs in the following format. The paragraph has a question along with 4 options (a) (b) (c) (d).How do i add a question number(sequence number) to the question.

Any marriage solemnized in contravention of the 19. condition specified in clause (1) of Section 5 of the HM Act, 1955 shall be (a) voidable (b) null and void (c) irregular (d) valid Ans. (b) [M.P.2012]

i tried to use the numbering option in the tool bar , but this is what i get
Q.1. Any marriage solemnized in contravention of the 19. condition specified in clause (1) of Section 5 of
Q.2. the HM Act, 1955 shall be
Q3. (a) voidable (b) null and void
Q.4. (c) irregular (d) valid
Q.5. Ans. (b) [M.P.2012]

But i want in the following format :

Q.1. Any marriage solemnized in contravention of the 19. condition specified in clause (1) of Section 5 of
the HM Act, 1955 shall be
(a) voidable (b) null and void
(c) irregular (d) valid
Ans. (b) [M.P.2012]

Please help!
