Adding tasks manually

If I have a master workplan that consists of several workplans inserted into
one overall plan, will adding additional tasks manually (that I will track)
manually screw up anything on my master workplan?

I can't tell that it messes anything up but wanted to double-check with the
"gurus", too. Thanks.....

See my reply to your other post.
Master plans will reflect the current version of the inserted plans.
Whether or not that means "messing up" depends on what yoy dit to the
inserted plans..

tanik,
When you say "adding manually" I assume you mean insert the new tasks
directly into the master file. There should be no problem doing this. I
have done it a few times and had no problems. Just remember however that
the tasks you add directly to the master are the only tasks that
actually exist in the master. All inserted subprojects "exist" in the
master only in reference. That is, the master only contains a pointer to
the subproject at the point of insertion. That is evidenced by
renumbered IDs for each subproject in the master.

Hope this helps.

P.S. "Gurus" live in the Himalayas. We're just MVPs. We have a lot of
"been there, done that" experience.
