Adding text from another document

I can insert text from another document - but when the routine inputs
the text any bookmarks from the text inputted is removed. Is there a
switch which will input bookmarks as well?

No. Bookmarks are unique to a document.

One could think of several programmatic worksarounds,
e.g. remember the bookmarks names and ranges,
and create according bookmarks in the other document,
which would involve checking where the text is inserted,
and recalculate the bookmarks ranges,
but seems to be pretty complicated.
