adding the news button to outlook 2007

From another user they said they had to go thru a whole rigomarole sic to install a custom button or lnk on the ribbon to get to the outlook express newsreader in windows 7 64 bit edition. I however had no such problem adding the button thru tools>>options>>customize for win xp mce. Is it possible that the code for 64 bit outlook may not have a direct path to add the news button?

Win7 does not include a new client and WLM does not work with Go, News so I'm not sure what you are trying to say...

There is a 'bug' in Windows XP and Vista that affects many users - the default newsreader is set to "Outlook Newsreader", not Outlook Express or Vista Mail and this causes the Go, News command to disappear.

I'll forward your comment into our newsgroup. I am not sure at this point which newsreader we are talking about at this point but this problem has peaked my interest as I am migrating shortly to win 7 and outlook. Which newsreader can I use or do I have to get a third party mail.

You'll need to use Windows Live Mail or any NNTP reader you choose (there are several good ones).

Notes about posting to newsgroups:

- Do NOT use HTML. Always post using plain text.

- Do NOT add a signature from your AV program. It is absolutely
worthless to readers of your post. Would you believe some unknown
poster that claims their post is uninfected just because they append
some text to their post? You are using ESET's NOD32. Configure it to
NOT append its *spam* signature.
