Adding Time

I am trying to add a series of times (minutes in doing a project) and would anticipate to get some results to be over 24 hours, however excel only adds up to 24 hours and then starts off with 0 and so on. How can I get a TOTAL number of hours and minutes. For example A1: 20:20, A2: 6:30, A3: =sum(A1,A2) gives 2:50 instead of 26:50.
