adding times

Hi,
Posted this twice from another location 12hrs ago and
it's still not listed... trying again.

I have a form with a date, start time and end time which
records jobs. The times are short time format. I'm
wanting to run a query to add all the times for the month
and give me a total but it's giving me an incorrect
answer. Say it adds up to 26:30 for the month, the answer
given is showing as 2:30, like it gets to 24 hrs and
resets? To get a total for the job I am just subtracting
the start time from the end time which gives the right
result but the problem is in the monthly total. Any ideas?
