Adding to dictionary

Word will not let me add words to the dictionary I commonly use. Anyone have
an idea why? Thanks

Hi Carl,

Go to Edit> Preferences> Spelling & Grammar. Make sure Custom Dictionary is
set to the correct dictionary (usually Custom Dictionary). Then click on
the Dictionaries button and make sure the language is set to None. This is
the preferred setting unless you are regularly using multiple languages and
really need to have separate custom dictionaries. If that's the case, post
back.

Also, check the Word Help under "Troubleshooting Spelling & Grammar".

And make sure you install all the updates. The early versions of Office
X had a bug that prevented you from adding anything to the custom
dictionaries in some cases.
