Adding Users to Sharepoint Site

John

I'm trying to add a user to a Sharepoint site. The user is in our org's
address book, but is not on the same domain as the Project Server. How do I
accomplish this? (It appears like I need to add that person as a local user
to the box - this seems like a lot of overhead.)

Please help!?!

Hi John,

The email address that is referenced in "Step 1: Choose Users" is really
the User Logon Name with the UPN suffix.

For example, if Don Funk's logon name is dfunk and he is a member of the
contoso.msft domain, then email address that SharePoint is referring to
is (e-mail address removed). It would be the same as typing CONTOSO\dfunk

The bottom line is that your user needs to have either an Active
Directory account on the domain with the WSS Server or a local account
on the WSS Server

Sorry :-(

Not a problem. From reading the Project Server installation guide and the
Sharepoint Admin Guide, it looked like those are my two options. I'm not a
fan of adding local user accounts for each person onto my W2k3 box, but if
that is the only way to do it, I will.

Again, much appreciated.
