adding video to frontpage 2002

I have tried everything that I know to add a video clip to my website. I
downloaded the windows player plugin and converted my video to .wmp file. I
used the wizard to add the video clip. When I see my page in the brouser the
video plays great. When I publish it to the server the windows media player
is there but when you click the button to play it connects then instantly
turns off. I have learned a lot about the program but still have very
minimal understanding of how everything really works. I would greatly
appreciate any help that I could get because I have tried everything that I
could read as a solution and nothing has worked so far. I have been told to
check that the path name is correct but I'm sorry to say I don't understand
what that means.

The video is under horses for sale, then on the page of Chics Dig My Boots.
My page is messed up right now from trying every possible solution I could
come up with to fix it so I currently home 2 home pages, sorry.

It looks to me that the path to the file is incorrect of the file is not
present in the location specified.

Here is the path it is currently set to: ".\media\mp_prod04_5.asx" . The
media player error details say it can't find the file.

The path is incorrect and since your are hosted under a Unix/Linux server make sure the actual file
name and an references to the file name are all lowercase.

Here is where I don't understand. Sorry for my supidity. When I use the
microsoft player wisard to select the video it still won't find it so I was
told that the path was wrong. When using the wizard the path is to my
computer/my documents and such but I don't know how to actually figure out
what the true path is? When is look at what was published it show that there
is a file labeled media and when I look in that file the video that I am
trying to publish is there. My best guess for the path was my website
www.slidinge.con/(then the acutal page the player is on)/ (then the media
folder)/(then the file name itself? I greatly appreciate you time and would
really appreciate any input that could better help me to understand this. I
have tried to cross reference my frontpage book and the book for dummies that
I have but nothing explains where to find my path to the video

You must import the file into your current open FP web prior to using/linking to it.

Also, the windows media player tool doesn't work in Firefox - just so you
know. At least, that was my experience with it. I add a plug-in in frontpage
to accomplish a compatible embeded video. You could also hand code it.

SOS. I have just purchased Front page to create our business web-site. i am
ready to throw in the towel as I cannot add Video and individual sound clips
which are absoltely essential to our Opere web-site. Help, I have tried the
obvious. Insert/ Video/ open a file called mpeg.

All that happens is an icon that will not play in the preview section of
prontpage? PLease help!
