Why is it that some words are never kept by the custom dictionary? I
can "add" them huindreds of times, but every time I turn on my
computer again, those words are not recognized as added. Why? Is
there any kind of filter?

I've had thsi problem in the past and it was related to a bug in Office.
Do you have the latest update installed ??? You need Office 10.1.2 (or
10.1.3 if you use Italian or French).
If updating Office (and the system) and fixing permissions on the drive
(through DiskUtility in MacOS X 10.2.6) doesn't help, then you might
have a corrupted custom dictionary. Let me know if you still have the
problem though before we try to get to editing the file.

Yes I have the latest, but still, some added words are taken and some
are not, particularly in Spanish, and always the same words, it
operates like censorship, for example for words like "sandinista".
It's even worst when I use the autocorrect while working on Entourage.
When I open the custom dictionary, a black square appears in place of
the character I corrected. It seems the software is full of bugs and
tends to corrupt very easily. I just started to use it and I only get
one problem after the other, not realiable at all. However, I'm just
learning to live with it, as it doesn't affect my work, hoping some
day Microsoft will wake-up and produce a better version. Thanks.

Thanks Corentin for walking me through to a potential solution. The
problem I have is mainly when I use the Auto Correct function in
Spanish, while working in Entourage. Then, when I work in Word and the
same words appear, they will not be automatically corrected, on the
contrary, they will be wrongly corrected. For example: if I type
"accion" and expect the Auto Correct to give me "acción" (with the
accent), I only get "acci_n". If I go to Tools>AutoCorrect and look
for that word, the place for the accented "o" will show a black
square. I've been changing manually all the black squares, but I'll
leave a few so you can see them. Look at these words; "acción",
"Canadá", "cáncer", "debería", "décadas", just to name a few.

Now, I want to send you the Custom Dictionary, but I don't know where
it is. I went to: HD>Users>Myself>Library>Preferences>Microsoft>Custom
Dictionary but when I opened it, I didn't find the same words that I
find when I go to Tools>AutoCorrect. In the Custom Dictionary I just
opened, I found for example "Buñuel", but when I write "Bunuel"
doesn't correct it, so definitely, this is not the Custom Dictionary
we are looking for. So I went to

As for the "Add" function, words without accents are not retained in
memory. Bad words, for example "carajo" o "mierda", but also a
political term such as "sandinista" or "sandinismo"; strange, isn't
it. Every time I restart my computer, those terms have disappeared
from the custom dictionary. Worst of all, I just tried to add
"sandinista" to the dictionary, and immediately as I clicked "Add",
Word quitted! Conspiracy?
