addins

Hi, I need advce on wether to add a tool bar menu or create an addin.
Basically I have made a form which the user inputs data, which is aded
to work sheet when complete. It also adds a table already formated.
Then theres a tool bar menu, which opens the form so the user can
start. The idea is that the user opens a new workbook each, saves as
the Customer, then starts using the form. At the momment they would
have to open my workbook, save it then close the original. Id like
them to open word, not worrying about which to open first, then begin.
o I need to create an addin for this, so the forms available for all
workbooks, or a tool bar menu.

Your use of the words "work sheet" and "workbook" give a pretty clear
indication that you are working in Excel. If that is the case, you should
post your question to the microsoft.public.excel.programming newsgroup.
This one is intended for the use of VBA in Word, not Excel.

Sorry, I using Word. Used VBA alot in excel so using the wrong
references. To refrase the question, rather than adding a toolbar in a
specific document, to perform tasks. Would it be better to create
addins so it can be used with any document. Or are addins used to add
controls to carry out tasks.

The toolbars should be in a template, not a document. If the template is
stored in the Templates folder, the toolbars in it will be available to any
document that is created from that template. If the Template is stored in
the Word Startup folder, it is then termed to be an Addin and the toolbars
in the template will be available to all documents.

See the article "What do Templates and Add-ins store?" at:
