I went to add some phone numbers in address book in entourage, and i edited the "custom labels" field where you put the telephone entries.. I had to put in 6 #'s, and made new names for them. all was good, except when i went to edit a different contact, and the labels i had edited for the previous contact were there, instead of its own....
does this mean that once i edit labels for one contact, that entourage will use only those for the rest of the contacts?? example-

The Custom Labels section is meant to be common for all contacts, yes. For
example, I've added fields for "AIM Name."

If there's something you want for just one contact, add it in the Notes
field.

For phone numbers, Entourage allows you to have many per contact. You do not
need to add fields for this. In the Telephone section, just click the "Add"
button. You can even "Edit Custom Labels" to add ones that Entourage doesn't
offer.

that was the whole point,,,,when i "edit custom labels", it adds them to ALL contacts.
I wanted to "edit custom labels" to add ones that are not there, as you said, however, the ones i create replace the others, for all contacts

Yes, that's how it's designed to work. If you want to add specific
information for just one contact, use the Notes field.
