Address book glitch

I have been using Microsoft Entourage 2004 for about two years and
recently upgraded (2 months ago) to Entourage 2008. I haven't had any
major problems except for the fact that it starts up really so-no
problems until a few days ago. A few days ago I did an automatic
upgrade to Itunes and Quicktime I believe. Now when I go to type in an
e-mail address or contact person to write an e-mail to the e-mail
addresses that normally pop up in order to select only come up with
the first letter of the contact name and the complete e-mail address
is no seen at all. I have tried deleting my address book and
reimporting it but to no avail. Neither the names nor the email
address to not show up in the (to) bar. In order to send an e-mail I
am having to manually enter in the e-mail addresses. The program works
fine with just this one recent glitch. Do you think that the updates
could be the culprit with my address book fiasco? Thank you all for
your time and attention to my plight.

The other updates should have had no impact.

I had a difficult time understanding your problem so I'll try to restate
it to make sure. If I understand you correctly, you use to be able to
start a new E-mail and when entering the E-mail address you use to be
able to type just a few letters before the name would auto-complete.
Now, it doesn't auto-complete for you. Is that correct?

First, make sure you have the following preference selected under
Entourage --> Preferences... --> Mail & News Preferences --> Compose -->
Recent Addresses: "Display a list of recently used addresses when
addressing messages".

This list will only work after you have sent to an address or received
mail from an address.

Also, contacts in your Address Books should appear as you type. Make
sure you have contacts in your Address Book. Note that you can click the
Address Book icon while entering addresses so that you can search for
them too.

I have the same problem. My preference is set to use recently used addresses. Also addresses I enter a few days before upgrading to OS 10.5.2 disappeared. I have check that I have the most recent version of Office.
