Russ, this is exactly what has happened to my outlook!!!
If I now go to a fax number (in the fax field of the contact folder)
missing
from the outlook address book contact and simply double click the fax
field
in the contact window, click ok, then save & close, that fax number will
once
again show up in the outlook address book contacts.
Is there any way to do this for all fax numbers for all contacts without
going through each contact individually?

It's not resolved until it is underlined. Something was preventing
Outlook
from recognizing it as a valid fax number until you edited it.

Based on this reply, I went to the 2 entries in my Outlook contacts
and
they appeared to have their fax numbers formatted correctly but I
double-clicked on them anyway. Lo and behold, they now appear in the
list
so I guess that's you meant by "resolved" because I knew I only had one
Contacts folder. Thanks for the help. Now I know what to do if I find
another entry missing that actually has a fax number.
Thanks again.

If so, then every valid, resolved number in a fax field will appear
in
the
address book.
Either your numbers aren't resolved, or you are entering them in a
Contacts
Folder other than the one you are displaying in your Outlook Address
Book.

Outlook 2003 is my default Contacts Manager and the software I use
to
fax
is the native XP Professional fax program.

The address book that "Print to Fax" invokes is the default
Contact
list
Manager for your operating system. Specify your fax software and
what
your
default Contacts Manager is. If you don't know, look in Control
Panel >
Internet Options > Programs.

I think it's supposed to be my Outlook contacts. It's the
address
book
that's listed when I print to fax in Word. If it isn't that
address
book,
I have no idea which one it is. It's the only place I have
ever
entered
phone numbers, fax numbers and email addresses so I'm assuming
it's
that
one.

You'll at least need to tell us to which "address book" you
are
referring.

When sending a fax (printing to fax in Word, for example)
some of
my
Outlook contacts with fax numbers don't appear in the list
that
comes
up
when you click on the address book. I have to enter the
recipient
information for them manually.
Anybody else had this problem? Is there a fix for it?
