Address book-too easy to delete entire distribution list

After entering numerous addresses in a distribution list in an address book,
I wanted to delete one entry. Instead of deleting just that entry, however,
the entire distribution list was deleted.

The system should work so that an entire distribution list can be deleted
only when it is not open or being edited. If for some reason Microsoft
chooses not to follow that logic then the least you could do is give us a
warning before deleting (in this case) several hundred address entries.

Since Outlook already provides the ability to recover any deleted item, this might seem to be overkill.

Good point but whenever this has happened to me, the "undo" option is greyed
out. How can the deletion be recovered?

Open your Deleted Items folder and drag the DL back the the Contacts folder.
