Address doesn't always autopopulate Delivery Address field

In Word 2003, when I type an address into a document (in the standard 3-line
format), that address does not always show up in the Delivery Address field
of the Envelopes and Labels dialog box [Tools > Letters and Mailings >
Envelopes and Labels > Delivery Address field (on the Envelopes tab)].

Also, when I use one of Word's letter templates (Contemporary Letter, for
example), the Return Address that I type onto the page, in the appropriate
section, shows up in the Delivery Address field.

Any ideas?

Where there is some formatting ambiguity that causes Word to miss an
address - select the address first then run the envelopes and labels tool.
