Configuration -
Outlook 2003 connected via IMAP/SMTP to a Smartermail server. Smartermail
has the ability to emulate, or present using the STSSync protocol, sharepoint
folders. Thus we have a ‘sharepoint’ folder which is a contacts folder. I
have made it viewable under my Outlook address book.
The issue -
When I address an email to a contact from the ‘sharepoint’ contact folder it
goes to a different contact upon sending. I’ll address the email to Joe, and
Joe is displayed in the To field. I hit send and look in my sent items and
find it went to Sally. I call Sally and she is wondering why I sent her this
email. Sally is also a contact in my ‘sharepoint’ folder.
This is Outlook doing this as I can verify in my sent items folder that
Outlook sent it to Sally. My Smartmail logs show my client connecting and
sending to Sally.
My guess is that the Autoresolution (which works flawlessly with Exchange
and local folders) is getting confused when resolving the name to an address
in this ‘sharepoint’ folder. Does this sound correct? Has anyone seen this?
Is there a solution?
Thanks,
Paul
