Adjust Actuals in 2007

Morning team

I'm getting to grips with 2007 at the moment - however, there are some
gaps in my knowledge at the moment - particularly - what has happened
to the Adjust Actuals screen?

If it has gone, what is the new process for:

a) backloading historic time,
b) making adjustments to actuals

The functionality must be there - any pointers would be greatly
appreciated.

Many thanks

Mickey ,

The funtionality is still there. If you want to update actuals you
will need the update actuals permission. Then from the timesheet
approvals page if you have the permission you can update a resources
actuals and resubmit for approval to the timesheet manager. As far
"Backloading" Historic time i assume that what you mean is that you
wish to capture time now that happened in the past ? if so you just
need to make sure that the relevant timesheet period is still open
then you will be able to update your timesheet. If you wish to update
task progress you need to also make sure that the task is NOT locked
for updates .

Hope this helps !!

Thanks ProjMan

So if I understand correctly - you have to submit a timesheet or
resubmit timesheets for periods? If so, how would this work if you
are not using the TimeSheet Functionality and only using My Tasks?

My understanding is these are different at the moment?

Thanks

Mickey ,

No can do mate , only place to do it then is directly from MSP 2007 ,
Can only adjust timesheets from -- Approvals -- Timesheets -- then
select availeble timesheets to adjust. Which is actually a good thing
i personally wouldnt want someone to adjust my time on a task without
me knowing. If the PM updates progress on the task in MSP and publish
ill know about it.

Another thing could also be to using timesheets in conjunction with
task updates,On the server settings page there is an option "tasks
setting and display" and in there you will see the option Entry by
timesheet only users will sync to update tasks.

So you put a nice process in place where users do their timesheets,
sends it for approval, then the timesheet manager can review the TS
and approve. The user will then see on their my timesheet page wheter
the TS has been approved or rejected. Then they can "Sync" to the my
tasks page by using the import timesheet functionality. When they
submit their update it will then go to the Status manager" (PM) for
approval.

So if there are changes made to the TS (Update Actuals) then the
process has to be re - done.

The idea of splitting the Timesheet manager and Status Manager is so
that only PROJECT related work goes to the PM and time worked (which
may or may not be project related goes to a users line manager for
approval. That way we can pay hourly workers directly from the EPM
timesheet and not just time on project work.

There we go ...

Hope this clarifies it
