adjust preferences and entourage needs to close

New to Mac and Entourage, every-time I try to adjust preference, entourage asks to close and restarts itself. But my adjustments are not made to preferences. Have set entourage as email client in Mac mail account. Also run Lotus notes as separate business email account without any problems. Have re built permissions, am at a loss!!!!! Help

Explain EXACTLY what you are doing. Your description is not typical. It's
either a new to Mac error or you have a problem.

The first thing you need to do is determine where the problem is located so
you can take the appropriate steps to correct the problem. Is it your
database, preferences, corruption in your User¹s folder, your system
files?

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
base OS files. If running the Apple combo does not fix, then you might need
to do an "Archive & Install".
