Adjusting actuals

What is the best way to adjust time or enter time for other people? Can the
administrator do it - When i adjust actuals in PWA, it comes across under
admin name instead of the user's name.

If you're using PS2007, then you can create delegate timesheets in order to
enter timesheet information on behalf of other users.

Additionally you can change the default assignment owner of the user whose
time you want to enter to the user who you needs to be able to enter the
time. This is prevent the original user from entering time against there
tasks until this is reverted.

Unfortunately I am using Project 2003 - whenever I adjust actuals it comes
through as my user account name or the admin account name, depending on how I
log on. I just need to clear out hours for certain projects and then
re-enter for the users. I'd like to have the correct user name go to the PM
for approval and not my name/admin.

IMHO, Project Professional, Task Usage view, or Resource Usage view would
be the way to do actuals adjustments in 2003's environment. Then, Republish
all assignments/overwrite actual work entered by Resources.

FWIW ...!

Thank you so much - Just curious, once the time is adjusted, does it go to
the PM for approval or is just republished to the server?

No notifications or approvals - this is the "hard-wired" method of
timesheet updates! :>)

BTW, ensure that the button "Become Manager for these tasks" is
OFF(should be default), but be aware that whoever does the republish could
end up owning the timesheet approval. The real PM ought to go in after the
fact and republish all assignments with the aforementioned button ON. Task
manager can be checked in PWA.

Hope this helps ...!
