Adjusting kerning (character spacing)?

Is there a way to adjust the kerning (space between letters) in Powerpoint
for the PC? I am able to do this in my PPT for the Mac, but can't find this
function in the PC version.

I am using Powerpoint 11 for the Mac; my PC users have Powerpoint 2002 for XP.

Unforunately not. Kerning is available in PowerPoint 2007.
