Captain Carl,
The following is based on Word 2001; you have not mentioned the version you
are using, but I think this applies on most versions.
After selecting the text, go back into the Paragraph window, as you did
before. In addition to the options you quoted is the "At least" option, with
a numerical value next to these words by default. Try keying in "14pt" or
click on the arrow to do the same. Now OK. How many lines do you get on the
page? Want more space between the lines? Key in "15pt" this time. Adjust up
and down to suit.
Once you have the spacing you want, you'd be wise to make a style for that,
so you can easily invoke it at any time.
With military compliments, Captain,
Clive Huggan (Wing Commander, retired)

the best or complete solution is proposed, and sometimes you'll be asked for
further information so that a better answer can be provided. Good tips about

* If anyone is still reading down this far, here's a question: is it time
for you to back up your Normal template and all your Word settings files?
(This should be on a medium other than the internal hard drive and, if you
also want to protect against theft and fire, stored in a different
building.)

Is there any way to adjust the leading or line spacing in word so that I
can fit 28 numbered double spaced lines (legal document) using 12
point courier? HELP!
