Adjusting pages numbers in my TOC

Ivano

Hi,
I have a 10 page document in which the footer has page numbers, however, I
don't want the the first four pages as part of the page numbering scheme
because the body of my document starts on physical page 5. So via formula i
have adjsted the page numbering scheme. I have the physical page 5
displaying as " Page 1 Of 5" then physical page two displays "Page 2 of 5"
etc... When I create my TOC the first page of the body of my document sais
"5" because Word is counting the physical pages. It doesn't match my
numbering scheme.
How do I adjust the TOC page numbers so it will display the body of my
document as page 1?

Thanks Ivano

Hi Suzanne,

Your are right I used a formula to adjust the PAGE and NUMPAGES.
I now added a section break and clicked on the "start at page 1" on physical
page 5. So the page number and TOC are correct but my total number of
pages... NUMPAGES... still counts the first set of pages as part of its
range. The "Start at" option doesn't adjust the total number NUMPAGES count?
Am I doing something wrong or do I have to adjust the NUMPAGES via formula?

If you have only two sections in the entire document, then you can get the
number of pages in the second section (the one you want to number) by using
the SectionPages field instead of NumPages.
