Adjusting/positioning swim lanes in a cross-functional flowchart

Grabbing size controls on the title box of a swim lane to adjust swim lane
heights snap back to original positions. Selecting the lane displays the
directional up/down/left/right control, but the lane snaps back after
attempting to move it up or down. I turned off the x-coord protection. I
can find no specific topic in help.

Does this happen with a new chart?
Which version of Visio? Horizontal or vertical swim lanes?
Can you add a new swim lane and make that work correctly?
It sounds to me like some of the swimlane formulae have been changed
and now the functionality has been lost.
N.B. You can't move a swimlane to before the first swimlane, do it the
other way round.

Im having a similar issue. I add a horizontal functional band and am not
able to expand the width to match the full size of the page (ive removed all
protections). I have visio 2007. One of my co-workers has visio 2003 and
when they add a horizontal band, a menu auto prompts them to create a
flowchart and automatically creates the title and expands the band to match
the full lenth of the screen. Is there sometime similar for 07? Ive been
spinning my wheels on this for a few days now with no success.

I think you are talking about two different issues, in your drawing
you are adding a swimlane, your cow-orker is creating a new diagram.
Can you create a new diagram correctly?
If not then it is likely that addons have become disabled.

menu Tools -> Options -> Advanced
and ensure Enable Automation Events is on
