Adjustng Remaining Work

We continue to have 'significant' issues when resources try to adjust
remaining work. With certain tasks, a resource will 'continually' update
remaining work, PM goes through process of updating projects and publishing
to Project Server. However, when PM publishes remaining work it goes back to
what it was before. For example, many tasks are long complete but it still
show remaining work.

I think I might have the problem narrowed to:

1. Resources adjust remaining work on tasks to 0hrs which the task has 0 hrs
actuals (work effort).
2. PM updates schedule, and when we ‘sync to actuals’ the remaining work
reappears. Again, the work ONLY seems to be reappearing on tasks with 0
actuals.
When PM republishes it overwrites resources timesheet.

This has been very frustrating for team members and PM trying to update
project accurately. Can someone PLEASE help???

I have seen this behavior before.

I solved that in two ways:

- By reporting at least 1 hour of actual work, or
- By modifying the task with Project Pro, changing work to 0h and % Complete
to 100%. This makes the task a finished milestone.
