IIS6 Admin/ Middleware/ Immediate/ Cleveland
Contract Position with Perm Opportunity

This is a contract position with a real company (non consulting) that
is established and
profitable. Keywords are middleware, IIS6, hopefully IIS7, Windows
2003 and 2008.

- IIS6 / Middleware, your essential job functions will include the
following:

• Monitor system for normal middleware operations including
web/IIS, Coldfusion, network and server availability, performance
tuning, error checking, error handling.
• Recommend upgrades to maintain reliability and performance.
• Manage or serve as a team member on upgrade/development
projects
• Development of automated monitoring and alerting for
production processes.
• Follow system management standards and procedures including
naming conventions and directory structures, local and remote access
rights, server and client software.
• Perform day-to-day administration activities to ensure
integrity, security and availability of production and development
environments.
• Adhere to standard change control procedures across
production and development environments.
• Make recommendations and application design standards that
will increase performance, reliability, and ease of administration.
• Work closely with project teams and developers in support of
project deliverables.
• Work with the server Infrastructure team to maintain current
releases of the operating system, application and software patch
levels.
• Assist in establishing connectivity with OEM partners for
file transfers, EDI data transmissions etc.
• Monitor and resolve assigned priority issues in accordance
to departmental metrics and established Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Monitor capacity thresholds including disk and memory
storage requirements, assist with setup and periodic failover testing
of high availability servers.
• Work with the Application Development team in support of new
applications development ensuring that the designs that are efficient
and optimized to meet the performance needs of the business.
• Resolve issues with support from the Applications
Development, Infrastructure Team and vendor support teams.

Position/Technical Requirements
• Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science or
Management Information Systems and or a minimum of 7+ years of related
experience.
• Demonstrated success as a middleware specialist in a
software development environment, responsible for maintaining a web
environment.
• IIS6 administration and Tuning required IIS7 a plus.
• Windows 2003 and 2008 usage required.
• Apache 2 administration and tuning a plus.
• Excellent communication skills: presentation, written, and
oral.
• Creative, innovative coding and problem-solving
capabilities.
