Admin Password

I need to log in as the computer administrator but I don't have the password.
I got this computer from some IT guy that "Custom Build" it just for me and
now he doesn't answer the phone and I have no administrative rights to add or
remove any software. Whats the point of having this computer if I can't even
make small changes to the system. I tryed net user admin * and get "system
error 5" not sure what else to do.... HELP

You need to post this to the appropriate newsgroup that is your Operating System. If
Vista then to the Vista newsgroup ,if XP then there

If is possible that the IT guy who build your computer did not assign a
password to the Administrator account. When you log on, select the
Administrator account and leave the password box blank. If that works, you
can and should then assign a password to the Administrator account.

The following is a link to Microsoft directions for creating a password
reset disc. I do not know if you can create the disc using a User account
and then use it to reset the Administrator. In any case, you may want to
have a reset disc on hand.
