Admin policies prevent installation of Office 2000

When I double click on setup.exe the error message comes
up: "The system administrator has set policies to prevent
this installation". How can I bypass this so that I can
install office 2000. I always logon as the administrator
of this computer, however, I am no longer the network
administrator of this computer. In the user rights page I
have changed what seems relevant, however, it still denies
the installation. There may be something I've missed. What
else can I do (do I have to change something in the
registary - I hope not, but if I have to I will). Any
suggestions?

it is because the group policy for that domain contains restriction policies
on software installation. you may want to contact your network admin for the
appropriate rights...
