Admin project: removing resource from 1 task

Is there a way of removing (unassigning) a resource from a task within an
Admin project if actual work has previously been recorded? I have (as an
example) 2 tasks in an admin project: (1) Server support and (2) Application
Support. If A resource no longer participates on Application Support how can
I remove the assignment. Making the person Proposed is not viable because the
person is still assigned to Application Support.

What happens when you perform these steps:

1. Select the task from which you will remove the resource
2. Click Window - Split
3. In the lower pane, select the resource you want to remove
4. Press the Delete key on the keyboard and then click the OK button in the
lower pane
5. When warned that the assignment contains actuals, press the Yes button
6. Click Collaborate - Publish - All Information

Let us know.

Nothing happens Dale. I don't get any warnings or messages using the split
screen method. The resource appears to be removed until I hit OK and the name
returns.

If I try to remove the resource in the Assign Resources dialogue window, I
receive an error message: Cannot delete or reassign tasks ot assignments with
protected actuals.

You will need to ask your Project Server administrator to temporarily
disable the managed time periods option so that you can remove the resource.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale. To not be able to remove someone from an administrative task
seems like strange behaviour. C'est la vie.
