Admin Projects showing up in regular Project Pool

I have created 2 Admin projects in Project Server 2003. These admin projects
however are showing up in the regular project pool and are also (I think)
causing my resources to be overallocated. When resources submit their
timesheets the admin hours are being counted and Project is adjusting
durations on admin projects when it shouldn't. There shouldn't be any
durations for admin projects, should there? I want to make sure that the
resource allocations are correct before I make adjustments to resource time.

EVERY task has a duration(!), just how long do you want it to be in an
admin project.

Admin project tasks should be Fixed Units or Fixed Duration(both NOT
effrot-driven), NOT Fixed Work, and you never level an Admin Project, nor do
you Update it to move unused Work past the Status date. Unused admin task
time is just plain lost, so remove from Remaining Work.

Could you explain in bit more detail how your admin projects are
structured, and if you have adjusted the Standard Project Calendar to lower
available time below 8 hrs/day, please?

Well I did not label it fixed units or duration (I didn't think I had to). I
guess my understanding of what an admin project was different than what it
really is. I have not adjusted the calendar to less than a 8 hr. day, should
I. I also have noticed that there is no status date assigned to these
projects. Should I have one and what is the significance of the status date?
